Will You Be Ready For The Next Phase?

May 20, 2020

Well 2020 has been a cracker hasn’t it? From Australia being on fire, to Canada’s worst mass shooting, murder hornets and a world pandemic things don’t seem like they can get much worse. Well never say never, but we need to stay positive and look to the future right?

Ready To Uplevel Your Brand?

If you are a business owner of any sort, you have undoubtedly been hit hard financially and heck likely mentally too. This crap has been crazy!

I’ve come full circle. Panic, uncertainty, lethargy, learning a new ‘normal’ for me and my family and finally, getting back some of my motivation (though it waivers from time to time). I think we’ve all come to realize that things are going to be different from now on. Going back to the way things were will likely no longer be an option. In many cases, this may not be all bad. Different, yes. Which brings me to my next few questions.

What percentage of your business was on-line before this happened? Did you work from home? Did you wish you could work remotely or at home more often? Were you present on social media?

If you did very little of this or not many of your eggs were in the on-line basket, chances are they will need to be now.

Here are 3 things you might want to consider when the economy opens up again.

1. Get some or all aspects of your business on-line:

Whether you sell a product(s) or a service, giving your customers access to you and what you sell will enable you to have an on-going stream of income, or keep you top of mind for future clients when it’s time for them to purchase. Even if you don’t know exactly where to begin, just start somewhere. Check out this blog post ‘Moving your business on-line’ to get you started.  If we ever have to go back to lockdown or anything similar, you will know, with confidence that you will have a place to run your business from. That place is on-line.

2. Have a plan for how you are going to market yourself and your business in the new economy:

It may take you much longer than you anticipated to implement all the things you want to do for your brand and your biz, but without a plan, you will just keep spinning your wheels going nowhere. Do the simple things first so you feel a sense of accomplishment when you are able to scratch them off your list. Maybe it’s something as simple as starting that course you bought but never opened, maybe it’s reaching out to past or prospective clients letting them know what new things you are doing now or maybe it’s focusing on creating a content plan. Start your plan now!

3. Start showing up.

Have you gone a bit dormant since all the Covid craziness began? Did you lose your mojo? I get it, I did too, but the one thing that never stopped, was me forcing myself to show up on line, even if I didn’t have much to say.

It’s easy to be forgotten on social media if you are never there. If you’ve taken a break, dust yourself off and get back out there. Let the world know what you are offering and how you can help. It can take a while to gain that trust with people looking to you for advice or for your business. Staying in the spotlight keeps you top of mind when your products or services are needed.  Whenever I get stuck I take a few of these hints from my personal business consultant coach Angela: Here are her tips for staying in touch with your prospects.

Soon as Premier Doug Ford mentioned restrictions were loosening guess what? My inbox blew up. People know they need to get back out there and are looking for visual updates to their content. The next phase is just around the corner. Will you be ready?

If you think you might be due for a personal brand spice up, I’m always here to answer any questions you may have. Drop me a line any time, text, message or call.

See you in the new world.
